Best Ads Placements for Google Adsense Ads To Get Maximum Clicks.

PPC is one of the best methods to monetize your blog/website where you put ad blocks on your website and earn money whenever a visitor clicks them. Undoubtedly, the best PPC program is Google Adsense which not only offers different ad sizes to insert in your blog but also provid every good cost-per-click rate for each click.
But what’s the benefit of different ad sizes and great CPC rate when visitors will not click your ads? Nothing!
So, while implementing tactics to increase traffic in your blog, get high CPC for advertisements, you should also work on increasing your ads CTR. The basic tip to increase CTR is to use big ad units. Of course, big ads will drive more attention and hence clicks to your ad units. So wherever possible, replace small ad units with their larger substitutes. For example, replace:
  • 300×250 ad units by 336×280 ad units
  • 460×60 ad units by 728×90 ad units
  • 720×90 ad units by 970×90 or 970×250 ad units
  • 120×600 or 160×600 ad units by 300×600 ad units
  • 120×90, 160×90 link units with 180×90 ad units
  • 468×15 link unit with 728×15 link unit
See this below graph provided by labnol.org which shows relative click rates (CTR) for all the standard banner ad sizes (relative to the classic “full banner”) and, as is obvious from the chart, the ad performance or click-through rates are much better for larger ad units.

The next tip – It’s all the game of ad placements. You should put you ads to the locations where they will drive maximum exposure and visitors will click them.
If you want to know the best location specifically for your blog where users shows maximum activities then you can use these tools which will analyze your blog against user activities so as to provide you data like heatmaps, event tracking, AJAX actions, mouse clicks tracking, etc. you can use these tools:
The above mentioned tools are for serious observations. It will take some time to get the required data out of these analytics tools. So, until or unless you don’t have a very unique website design or a big website I will recommend you to implement one of these below Adsense ad placements.

Google Adsense Heatmap

Suggested by Google itself (here), this Google Adsense heatmap shows the best ad placements for normal webpage layout. The dark-orange sections are showing the best while light shows the worst ad locations.

Responsive Adsense Heatmap

Responsive Adsense Heatmap
The above heatmap is Google Adsense heatmap for responsive websites – the left pic shows general ad placement while the right one shows the actual ad placements.

Now, the CTR Crusher

The above ad placements (provided through heatmaps) ensure to increase your CTR without compromising user experience and put it at the legal CTR range of 2% to 5% which is adsense recommended CTR level. If you aren’t happy with these ad placements & their CTR outputs (and you are ready to compromise user experience)  then below I am providing 7 CTR Crusher Adsense Ads Implementations which can instantly boost your blog’s CTR.
These Adsense CTR Crusher Ad Placements are found to be 200% to 300% more effective than Adsense heatmaps and resulted in providing CTR up to 12%. However, it crosses the limit of legal Adsense CTR percentage, which may raise red flag towards your Adsense account.

Also, these ad placements leave very thin content above the fold on your webpage which is not good both for your blog’s reputation and adsense. So, the only warning I want to provide you for these Adsense CTR Crusher ad layouts is – USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
